SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
The Port Harcourt International Campus buildings are brand-new and built to the
highest standards. Architect-designed both inside and out, they provide a light,
airy, flexible environment which is highly conducive to learning. They are
situated in the grounds of Heliconia Park.
Port Harcourt International Campus combines modern classroom design with
first-class recreational and outdoor facilities. It’s a place where children
really can achieve their full potential. Each classroom contains a range of
equipment and materials necessary to enable every main subject to be taught,
including at least one computer with Internet access.
The school also offers:
Computer Room: 16 computers, with software to support learning
across the curriculum.
Library: Well stocked with attractive new books and includes an
audio-visual corner.
Gymnasium and Auditorium: Small temporary gymnasium is
fully-supplied with a wide selection of sports equipment. A planned extension to
the front of the building will offer a full-size gymnasium and auditorium.
Multi-Purpose Sports Area and Running Track: Of similar quality
to those installed for adult camp residents and featuring a floodlit playing
field.
Outdoor Safe-Play Area: A wide grassed area provides a safe
place for children to run free and play games and sports.
Swimming Pool: Children enjoy regular, supervised swim sessions
at Heliconia Park’s main swimming pool at the restaurant complex (see later
section). There is also a paddling pool for the younger children.
